Personal Affairs

This has been a rough season to say the least. I have had serious illnesses this past year, two or three major infections, two surgeries and hospitalizations, and two long rehabilitations. I’m facing another surgery next week to remove surgical pins from my right ankle and foot. If that wasn’t enough, I have personal matters affecting my life right now. Was I crazy and/or stupid or a little of both? Only time will tell. Much prayer, love, and patience is needed.

Recent Studies of COVID-19

23 Tuesday Feb 2021

Recent studies have conclusively shown that coronavirus cases are steadily decreasing among the nation. Within two weeks, the number of people affected by the virus and surges are declining all over America. With the vaccinations, more people are immune to the coronavirus. This includes the elderly and disabled; those in assisted living and nursing homes. Young people have stronger immune systems that can fight off the virus. Their antibodies are more substantially effective against foreign bodies and mutated cells seen in viruses and diseases. Other supplements needed for healing:

Vitamin B-12 is an important element and critical in wound healing. If taking injections, 1000 mcg weekly is plentiful. They regularly come in 20 or 25-gauge needles. Please ask the nurse or physician to use a 30-gauge needle. Shorter needles are painful and makes you sore a day or two. The medicine goes into the muscle, such as the thigh or posterior area. B-12 droplets can be used instead of injections. A dropper full is the equivalent of 1500 mcg. I take a fifth daily, about 300 mcg, under the tongue. I took injections for four weeks (500 mcg twice weekly) and changed to B-12 Methylcobalamin droplets last month. It took me about one week to recognize that I felt better, less fatigued, having more energy, and less lethargic.

Chromium Picolinate – 200 mcg minimum daily. Can take 2X daily at first, and then drop to once daily, as tolerated.

Citracal – Calcium – Once daily. Contains Magnesium and Zinc.

Magnesium – 320 mg minimum daily. Can find this through dairy products, nuts, chocolate, coffee, meats, vegetables, whole grains, seeds, legumes, and water with a high mineral content.

Zinc – 75 mg daily used for skin healing.

Omega-3 – Fish Oil is a great source to boost the immune system. Once daily. I take it for my LEMS disease. It also can fight inflammation. Taking at least 2 tablets of 81 mg aspirin can help with inflammation also.

Multi-Vitamins – Once daily. I take “Alive” for Women.

There are many supplements that can be combined with dietary requirements. Foods that are highest in Beta-Carotene and Vitamin A are red pepper, fruits (such as oranges), vegetables (such as carrots), and whole grains. Remember the red, orange, and yellow foods. As discussed in yesterday’s posting, Vitamin C is extremely important for healing, especially wound healing, not only Vitamin E for skin healing. Both vitamins are essential for overall healing for bodily functions. Start with an increased amount of vitamins, and regulate your dosages within the first couple of months. Your maximum dosages may differ from mine, as tolerated. Your body will tell you when you are taking too much. It is better to start at a higher dosage, and reduce overtime.

If you need assistance, you can reach out to me. Good luck and see yourself feeling better.

Health Issues – In the Past

22 Monday Feb 2021

Given the pandemic for a little over a year, much emphasis has been placed on health and staying healthy. Granted it is inconceivable to see so many affected by the coronavirus, yet it is impractical to say you and your family are not affected by COVID-19. Everyone in the global world are affected by this deadly virus. The numbers of deaths are staggering as surges are reported in every section of the nation. New cases and hospitalizations exist in our communities everyday. One lingering threat is those with pre-existing health issues; the risk is higher for those with serious medical conditions.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer over ten years ago and an autoimmune (LEMS) disease nearly ten years ago. My blood counts were low, my white blood cells on average at a level 2.5 (2500) or even lower out of a 10 count. My red blood cells were sometimes lower than normal too below 4 (4000) count. For the first time within ten years, recent lab results showed my blood counts were in normal range. My hemoglobin is in normal range also between 12.0 and 15.5 grams per decimeter. Hemoglobin is essential for transferring oxygen in the blood from the lungs to the tissues. Iron is an essential element for blood production and found in the red blood cells. It is also needed for the immune system to combat viruses within the body.

I am not a medical doctor, although I hold a Ed.D. in Education. I can not give medical advice; I can only tell you what worked for me. One important task was reversing my illness through natural supplements. For the past few months, I increased my vitamin intake, which produced significant results. If you follow this regimen, it will help you. The proof was in my blood tests. My wounds from surgery last mid-September have healed very quickly this month. My lateral dorsal in my right foot healed 67% in one week, a healing which was unheard of, according to my physicians. My wounds are 82% healed from infections; 15% improvement this past week. I have finished all antibiotics, as my foot is healed enough. I will finish skin grafts next week. In addition, I will have all surgical pins removed next week. The neurologist has discontinued monthly IVGs, as I’m well enough now. I’ve had these infusions for nearly ten years, two consecutive days per month.

I met a brilliant medical doctor in Atlanta who is an immunologist and a wound specialist. I was skeptical at first that anything could help me. I had developed E.coli in November and then Pseudomonas a few weeks ago. I had a second surgery in late November to debride (scrape out) the infection. I was told I could have a secondary infection from the pins itself. IV-antibiotics were the only source of treatment for both infections, as oral antibiotics were not strong enough.

Researching these elements, I found these vitamins an enhancement in my healing. Please do not deter from these vitamins and it’s important that you follow these regimens daily until feeling better. Then, you can minimize your dosage or cut in half after a couple of months. Vitamins A-E:

Vitamin A – 50,000 units daily

Beta-Carotene – 100,000 units daily

Vitamin B-100 – 2X daily

Vitamin C – 5,000 units daily minimum. This is especially important to prevent viruses.

Vitamin D3 – 50,000 units (can be taken twice daily at 25,000 units)

Vitamin E- 1,000 units daily

These dosages sound extreme, but what was needed in order to start neutralizing my blood cells. It took me about two to three months to see physical and metabolic results. I will add other supplements this week. It’s not a cure-all; just an enhancement for well-being and wound healing.

Also, if undergoing cancer treatments, please reconsider standard treatments of chemotherapy. There is a medical treatment of computerized stereotypic hits in radiotherapy in which the cancerous site is treated, not healthy cells. Dr. Gil Lederman in Manhattan treats all types of cancer (primary and metastatic) except blood cancers/disorders. The treatments are non-invasive, painless, without surgery or bleeding. Please call his office directly to set up an appointment, possibly through a virtual consultation. It could mean the difference between life and death.
