Someone tried to attack my name and writing on social media two weeks ago under my author’s name, Anne R, Murray. It is slander; I refute all wrong accusations. If they had bothered to read my novels, they clearly state that some of the events and dates are fictitious. Facts do manner, but they need to get their facts straight.
It’s libel. Libel is the written word.

This is upsetting, but soon it will be yesterday’s news. Don’t let it dent your confidence.

Boy! Sorry to hear that. Then again, it feels like that is the current purpose of social media now. I used to go to Snopes frequently to look up urban legends. I looked more recently and, wow! Snopes has exploded with articles in recent years debunking tons of stories due to social media. It’s as if social media began as a decent communication system and then morphed into the cheapest tabloid news at an ever increasing rate.
This is why I keep telling others, “If you went to social media to look me up? Don’t buy any of it, about anyone. It’s unreliable. It is the new Weekly World News.” ❤
