inI added four new widgets yesterday with images to my galley. The “About Me” widget I added a few days ago has been great. I have already gotten several nice comments from others concerning the “About” page. Thank you for those. It connects me to other bloggers and people. This course has been helpful on how to learn to add customized widgets to my blog. This activity I found a little bit challenging at first as it was new territory for me. Now it becomes easier with the daily assignments.

The several blogs I commented on yesterday were all awesome. One stands out that I really enjoyed reading. It was creative, spiritual and enlightening “Awakening” for me. In the past few years, I have been there in my journey. I give Maia Blessings an “Excellent” for creativity, appearance and attractiveness of her blog to readers. https://maiablessings.wordpress.com/2015/01/10/guardian-blowing-love-hearts/

I pivoted around taking my first blogging course. I have learned gradually since starting my blog last week. I joined this course to learn how to connect to others and the world. I commented on four blogs I haven’t commented on before: Maia Blessings, Impossiblebelong, Julz Crafts and Catherine MacDonald. These were inspirational, creative, spiritual, awakening and all were interesting. One presented crafts, which I admit I do not know much about but pretty and decorative to say the least. Thank you for sharing your blogs.

inPlease don’t confuse me with the singer. I would love to have her talent for singing and the money. I started this blog to connect to others and to the world. I made a widget “About Me” page but being new to blogging, I’m not quite sure it is right. Most of the information was taken from my profile in Facebook, three to four years ago. I have been editing a 315-page Galley (text manuscript) this weekend so my thoughts are running together right now. Continue reading

inAssignment #4: Thursday, January 8, 2015 My dream reader is one who captures the essence of creativity at its best. Not only one who enjoys creative writing but one who enjoys reading a good book. What makes a book good? One that grasps the reader’s interest and keeps their interest at bay. As a fictional writer, I’ve often wondered what makes a story interesting – suspense, characteristics, drama or simply action-packed with lots of visualization. Continue reading

inHello fellow Blogging 101 course takers. Today our assignment was to follow five new topics and five new blogs. As a writer, I’m always interested in new blogs and interesting topics. They have all been great so far. These are five I selected today but many more were just as terrific. Continue reading

inHello, let me introduce myself. My name is Anne. My pen name is Anne R. Murray. I have written a new book. This is my third book in a year and a half. I am creating a new blog to connect to others and writers/authors in the field. I am excited to join this course as my new book has passed initial content evaluation today. That means it moves on to the next step in the publication process. Continue reading

inI went to my niece’s baby shower today. She is expecting a baby girl in a couple of months. I am happy for her and think it’s awesome. The announcement of this child inspired my new book. Although a fiction, it still is based on the creation of a child. That is, the main character started to have a series of dreams during her pregnancy. Without giving away the plot, these dreams were a message from God. I can’t think of a more beautiful way to start the new year, the birth of a child. Continue reading

This is the second day of my blog to the community. I call the website The Writers’ Guide because I’m a relatively new writer. I have published three books within two years. My first two books were non-fictional, under my pen name, Elizabeth A. Philips. My first published book, As The Scarlet Tanager Sings, came out in the summer of 2013. My second published book, As The Sweet Honey Runs, came out in the fall of 2013. I learned a valuable lesson working on two books at one time. To get both books out within a few months of each other is not only time-consuming, it’s exhausting. Please go to http://www.elizabethaphilips.com for more information.
